Who Benefits from a Brexit Deal?
In the never-ending see-saw saga known as Brexit, the latest dip points towards dissolving Parliament on November 6th, then electing a new one on December 12th. At that point, there are five scenarios in play: Brexit on the existing deal by January 31st, 2020, Renegotiation, Referendum, Cancel Brexit, or a “No-deal” Brexit. Meanwhile, President Trump criticized both the existing deal and U.K. Labour Leader Jeremy Corbyn, who in turn accused Trump of wanting the U.K.’s National Health Service to be privatized so that U.S. firms can profit from Britain’s health-care sector. In all the excitement, it’s easy to lose sight of who exactly stands to gain what should it ever come to pass.
