The Latest Spin on EU-US Trade

The International Trade Commission is hosting scores of lawmakers, industry reps and labor groups this week as they all chime in on NAFTA’s new replacement. Steel and aluminum tariffs on Canada and Mexico are a hot topic, with many believing they need to be lifted if NAFTA 2.0 is going to fly. Meanwhile, President Trump, who is not attending these meetings, has made a series of tweets decrying Europe’s reliance on the U.S. for defense, while creating a trade surplus.
